KCSE Results 2025 Examination Administration
The KCSE 2025 examinations were conducted over a period of approximately five weeks, starting on October 21 and concluding on November 21, 2025. During this period, candidates across the country were examined under strict regulations designed to protect the integrity and credibility of the national assessment.
Candidates were examined in 30 subjects, which were administered through a total of 74 examination papers. To ensure secure handling of examination materials, KNEC deployed 633 distribution centres, commonly referred to as containers, across the country. These centres played a critical role in the daily distribution and collection of examination papers, enhancing both security and efficiency.
Gender Distribution Among Candidates
Out of the 993,000 candidates who sat the KCSE Results 2025 examinations:
- 492,019 were male candidates
- 501,214 were female candidates
The figures show near gender parity, with girls accounting for approximately 50 per cent of the total candidature, continuing a trend of strong female participation in national examinations.
Reduction in Examination Irregularities
On matters of examination integrity, the Ministry of Education reported a decline in cases of malpractice. A total of 418 candidates were implicated in examination irregularities during the 2025 KCSE examinations.
This represents a reduction compared to the 614 cases recorded in 2024. Education officials attributed the improvement to enhanced surveillance, tighter supervision, and increased awareness among candidates and teachers regarding the consequences of cheating.
